R32 Low Style Project #8

RE-Xtreme .RSG. R32 Low Style Project #8 is now 99% complete.

Based on the A~Bo~Moon Flames and utilizing the Pandora BN Sports R32 as a base, I've now built 6 of these and supplied masks for 8 in total.

My previous 2, I was begged to sell but this one is not for sale. I plan to hang onto it until it's destruction.

Features, Custom exhaust and wing. GT-Power lights and HPI Mirrors and Intercooler. IRoHa Number plate is a bonus. Through dash 10 point cage adding to the D1SL image.

Glitter based flames really reflect in the light. Low Style means LOW...

However this beast represents another kind of R32. Stock bodied R32 made wider at the rear and the front bumper is cut for that "D1 Practice Car" look.

This really has a realistic look to the body. Cage might be a bit misplaced however.

Light kit will be put to good use this Tuesday when #08 meets #09 that I have passed to it's new owner.

Boss S14 - Closer to Debut

The Boss was on track today... Just a couple of minors before the on track antics begin.

New cage and mirrors

We are running some black bands at the moment in tribute to a lost champion.

Rear of the S14 is fat and juicy.

front is very narrow but accentuates the tyre rim combo. Stay tuned for #2

Boss S14 - Pre-Release

My work on the Boss in 90% complete and body is ready for action. Time for a pre-release checkpoint.

Although still to have the cage and lighting installed, the only other omission we are waiting on are some custom stickers.

Overall the theme has taken the lightly modified BRE design and incorporated the GCRC colour theme.

Magnetic wing is optional should a big wing be needed.  Bumper is discarded.

The rear is simply too cool to cover with a bumper.

An RC-Art centre exit exhaust brings balance and a little weight to the rear.

Soon to debut. Look out for the Boss at GCRC Raceway.

BOSS S14 Update Details

Getting the details right always adds that little extra.

Light buckets for the S14 were found in a buggy light kit.

finishing off these beasts is a chore. Small

Wheels and tyres are also a tough choice. offset 5 and 7 seem to be about all you can stuff into a Boss S14.

Rear is also nearing completion, Dash in, magnet rear wing and rear muffler have been added.

Another day or so.

Boss S14 Checkpoint

The HPI Nissan Rocket Bunny Boss S14 can't escape it's influences.

The BRE livery is white with red and blue. GCRC colours are red, white and black

A little accentuation to the hood lump that would obviously hide a V8 Swap.

So you end up with a Dodge R/T Camaro Silvia.

Overall appearance is good. Very old school racey.  Can you make something new, something old?

So we are getting closer. Diffuser is done , just need to do the lights and details before fitment.

Pain in the Boss.

These HPI Boss S14s are cool, but OMG they are a pain to build.

Concept was pretty straight forward. Something along these lines. Mimicking the BRE style.

They are pretty unique. the wheel exposure will be interesting.

Ready for a bath.

Then some final fitment.

About an hour to get it right. Thick lexan requiring patience

Custom Buckets will be cool too!

A large masking effort.

And some pretty good results. I decided to replicate the theme on the bonnet

Overdose 326Power Yaba King Mitsuru Mesh Wheels Suit, but these are not for this body.

Next... White and details...

BOSS S14

TRA-Kyoto S14 Boss now in 1/10. It really didn't take long to get this out there.

Now I don't know if these are a test run from HPI or the real deal. But they have a few areas that could be improved. The Lexan is incredibly thick. While that means strength, it also means cutting it out is super difficult.

pre cut graphics are great, but the details are a bit lacking.

Lots of vents to cut and SPL light buckets to go in. Fitment is good. 190 up front

rear is 200 real car also wears different offset.

So ready to go.

no way...

The kit includes this complicated diffuser setup that still allows the bumper to be installed or not.

It's hard to work out where you need to cut. Even though it's moulded like this. there's no cut lines.

It's a bit guess-o-metric I originally thought i had to leave some extra to join but it's only the main diffuser ends and the uprights. Basically look for the dots as clues.

I left a little lip on the rear of the diffuser but the real car doesn't have that. Just flat.

BOSS... hmm... it got flaps...!
