GCRC Friday Fresh #2

Countersteer kings.

I'd hate to count the number of laps these guys have done together. A couple of hundred thousand perhaps?

Jade in front, Nick in the rear. Very rarely swapping.

Their high countersteer ARD / Street Jam & R31 based chassis setups are hard to better.

Friday Night Jam Feature

A little fatter and a little shorter in the rear.

A few bolt-ons up front.

The small details adding to the image.

Silvations... Low and wide.

Get one up the pipe!

All the right curves.

Ripe for battle. I recently try not to run the tyres up someone's door. Unless it's RIPE!

But never scratch it on the first day.

High Class Kazama

Well Hello!

A double set of Kazama Auto GPX-R. Both with a touch of Bling.

My own "Tail Slider" and Active Hobby equipped Kazama Conversion of the R31 has a few nice pieces that finish off the chassis.

Many parts have be Re-Anodised black for a total black out.

Others raid the available parts bins and end up with a king's contrast. 24 Karat Bling.

Quite the pair. With 4 or 5 Kazama GPX-Rs and just as many R3Rs running around GCRC there's always inspiration to be had.

Soaring Battles at GCRC

GCRC is heating up. On track action is AMAZING!

I really tried a few new points to shoot from today. The results were very nice.

This selection of images was taken in a 3-4 minute period of battles that last battery after battery. I simply handed the reins of the new GPX-R to a friend and it's a tribute to the depth of skill, that these images result.

Love this shot. Front wheel frozen in position while the body rotates around it.

Street Jam R3R / Kazama runners sharing similar setups are amazing also. Pick up and R31-RS for a cheap price and it's a great entry point to slide central.

very tight battles.

Speed, Angle, Style! Got them all.

Practicing the competition line. Well not really.

just going for that minimum proximity.

Who will switch first? All together please!

Yakuza Bosses in action.

I need a couple more drivers to complete my chassis.

RWD FR-D also playing among us.

Sunday Slides are soaring to new levels of fun!

Street Jam R3R Kazama GPX-R TailSlider Debut...

With not much experience in the R31 world, I enlisted some mechanics to help me out.

My Tail Slider tuned is tuned a bit differently however getting the basics right required the knowledge you only get from owning a particular brand for a while.

Knowing that 1mm here and 2mm there makes a huge difference. It's where the 2mm can be used to best effect is most important.

One way direction... check
front CVD length ... check
Knuckle steering speed and position ... check.
CS up... check.

the result is a bit of a monster. the Ninja has it's own style . the biggest dynamic comes from 3 layers of weight on top of the front bumper support.

But this is a useful technique for obtaining front grip. The Kazama chassis is a derivative of the RC-ART / STREET JAM group with many components shared among White Wolf also. This one wears some weight up front for balance.

There are more than a few R31 derived chassis running at GCRC so expect a few more Street Jam related posts as I build more knowledge of what upgrades work well.

First impression was excellent in a totally different feel to how my Yokomo chassis are working. More input for the brain.

ARTHIRTIWAN

The R31 is a chunky machine. StreetJam's version takes that chunky style to the cool school.

It only takes a couple of tiny extras to add some flair (or Flare) to the Sykline.

The colour really contrasts on the camera. perhaps better than in person.

these are just some small tips.

Street Jam' s smaller size TE37 are a perfect match.

A mini shoot with the RWB.

It's hard to tell which is bigger.

The shape of the porsche plays tricks on you while the R31 is solid.

While the RWB is set to return to the shelf for a while, this Skyline will be mashing it up.

Tommi Tribute - Update #4 - DRB +

Today was the Exhaust, Roof Dust Vent, Street Jam 17" TE37 Which I like a Lot.

The rear lights are smoked, but there's red buckets and black LED mounts in there.

The Exhaust is HPI with a small carbon protector around it. (a little black overspray on the back will be covered by stickers..)

I've started working on a Marlboro style helmet similar to Tommi's. Wild Tommi is coming.

So each day it gets a little closer.  i have a rear parcel shelf to go in and I may mount the drivers on the body rather than the chassis. Still thinking about that one.

The major Job I did today was swap the Sanwa and Keyence electrics from the RWD into this DRB. So right now, the bright polished DRB is ready to go.

Might take it out for a test run tomorrow night with the RX-7 fitted.

RE-DP SSG Tsunami Spec 2.0 Upgrades

Small upgrades for more impact.

It may not look like much has changed. but there is now some more "Tsunami" blue on this machine.

I've been swapping components around recently to get better balance among my chassis.

The Imadoki towers I use on this chassis with the Team Suzuki lower arms are really designed for the shorter stoke Drift Package items.  I had a new set lying around so I decided the blue was needed to replace the silver items I had previously installed.

The Kazama height adjustable shock tops are set to the perfect length for this. Unfortunately the lower spring set is plastic, but eventually I can replace this if needed.

But the overall goal of a greater adjustability and more blue alloy have combined well.
