Slide Session.

A last minute decision to shakedown the GRX130 saw me meet up with the guys at rcTechnodrift.

Shakedown for the Mark X went as expected. Very smooth, lots of traction and lots of slide.

The guys were trying the slowest drift style searching for the tyres with least grip.

so, I eventually re-tuned the DIB-L to fit their style.

This sedan looks right. Compared to this Mark II, there was not comparison. I thought it was an AE86 for a while.

I'd like yokomo to make this JZX100 rather than the Kunnyz Chaser version in longwheelbase, But I guess I'll have to settle.

Nick's cool GT-R also sliding well.

and looking groovy.

Fernando's S13 and my S14 looked good together.

Lights ablaze.
We also did a bit of DIB vs DIB 275 comparison. No different from my point of view except driving line.

I ran the Drift package with Kazama Premium that had too much grip, so I went down to RC926 DT005 for more slide.

But I like to thrash the crap out of my drift package. It loves throttle.

My canards survived despite a few "racing incidents"

Red's Mark II on track and sliding well.

After dark, things became pretty quiet as we drifted into the night.

My DRB is setup for Japanese comp style, So it doesn't really match how the guys run at GC.

But it does look cool.

in it's chrome glory.

Sitting much lower with tuck. I trimmed 3mm since last time (when it was already low)
and now it surprisingly doesn't scrape so much.

Was a fun evening.

Yokomo Mark X 275 - Update #7 Interior

Last minute decision... to add some sponsor logos... for shakedown.

Meet Grover

G'day mate! Grover here.

My head moves when I steer but my arms are not hooked up yet.  I need a race suit and gloves, but for now ... Fonzi style is ok.

I have a hollow body so someone shoved a linkage up to a belcrank. the other end is connected to the servo steering horn.

some custom pieces.

I've got my hands on the wheel.

and a simple flat D1 style fabricated dash gives me something to look at even if it doesn't work.

Shouldn't be long until I'm drifting at speed.

275 inspiration.

 Big Sedans with big power...

Sometimes you just want one.

Daigo and Kuniaki surely make a good image. But their battle style is not as exciting as their tyre schredding qualifying ability.

1000+ hp makes these cars quite simply ... rubber schredders.

I still love my FD3ses for their sexy appeal, but the presence of the big VIP sedan is cool too.

Suenaga's second car is fine on these small tight courses, but on the big tracks, the big monster machines are awesome.

 Big and FAT!

Yokomo Mark X 275 - Update #6 Driver

Starting to look the part. These TE37 SL are a drifter's best match.

looks mad.

How big is 275. this is about it. The D-like hachi actually has a long front and back which kind of distorts things. But it's still the "right size."

I mean the 86 is still much smaller than the GRX130. As it should be.

But photos are deceiving.

Big or small... you decide.

I think it's a great size.

I added Mr Grover. He is a Tamiya Sand Rover Driver.

I've customized him with the ability for two working arms and head.

But for now... I think he will remain static.

Yokomo Mark X 275 - Update #5 Accessories

Got presence.Yes.

Light detail.

Added a Tow hook on the bonnet...

... and another at the rear. Rear ABC hobby diffuser is in (attached to the muffler mount) and some initial stickers are on while I wait for others to be produced.

Still many jobs to do. This will be almost covered with sponsor logos. It looks very stark right now.

But it's mounted on it's magnets and and ready for a test.
